How do clinicians work with families who are experiencing losses they cannot clearly articulate? Family members of patients who are suffering from dementia, traumatic brain injuries, addictions, and/or serious mental illnesses all share one core issue: while their loved one is physically present, s/he is psychologically slipping away. This workshop addresses therapy with families who are coping and reorganizing with these ambiguous losses.

Dr. Mendenhall’s areas of interests include: Families and Chronic Illness, Trauma and Fieldwork, Citizen Health Care, and Community-based Participatory Research.

8 hours of CEUs (including 1 hour of Ethics)
